| Chairperson |
MRS.
MALLIKA HEMACHANDRA, founder of the company is a
graduate from Holbourne School of arts and crafts U.K. She
has been designing and manufacturing Jewellery for over 38
years. She has had the privilege of designing Jewellery for
customers such as her Majesty Queen Elizabeth of England,
the late President Jayawardena & family and the Late President
Premadasa & family, Personalities such as the wife of
the Maldivian President Mrs. Abdul Gayoom and wife of the
Prime Minister of Pakistan Mrs. Nawaz Sheriff & also Her
Excellency President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaranatunga

Managing
Directress |
MRS.
CHAMINDRI HEMACHANDRA, a qualified Management Accountant
with Diplomas in Computer Systems, Design and Gemology. She
joined her mother in 1992 after a few years at Sampath Bank,
Development Banking Unit. She has been spearheading the Sri
Lankan operations to expand the business from one showroom
in 1992 to Seven in 2002.

| Production |
Mr.
Janaka Wijeratne, a Diploma holder from the Technical College,
Maradana, manages the production department. He has been instrumental
in developing the production department for the past 13 years.
The production department consists of gold smiths, wax model
and tree makers, rubber mold makers, casting technicians,
cast Jewellery finishers, stone setters, polishers, platters,
quality assurance and section coordinators.

| Marketing
|
The
Marketing Department was formed Five (05) years ago and is
currently headed by Mr. Asanga Karunarathne.

| Commercial |
Managed
by Ms. Sahereni Amin who has been developing the co-ordination
and process management programmes for the Commercial Department
and Company.

| Finance |
Overlooked
by the Managing Directress Ms. Chamindri Hemachandra assisted
by Ms Harshini Jayawardena and her team. In a computerized
working environment The Company has young service oriented
trained staff with a good team spirit and commitment.

| Designing |
The
designing of Jewellery is undertaken after receiving a written
brief or discussion with the individual customer or organization.
Mrs. Mallika Hemachandra, her daughter Chamindri Hemachandra,
does designing; thereafter the designs are recreated on computers
using jewel cad software. We are able to transfer these designs
to customers in order to review and finalize the designs.
Thereafter estimates and orders could be received at our branches.
We further use this technology with our international customer
base to show our designs and received our orders.

| Manufacturing
|
We
manufacture jewellery in two forms first is customer designs
jewellery one of a kind made by our trained crafts men with
the guides and supervision of our designers and technical
quality control team.
The factory procedures jewellery using the precisions casting/
lost vax techniques in order to produce fine Jewellery in
large quantities. This factory uses most modern machinery
and equipment from the U.S.A.

Jewellery
in large quantities are manufactured at our factory in 22ct,
18ct, 14ct, 9ct gold and Sterling Silver. Other metals such
Copper, Brass, and Platinum etc. are also used on special
orders.

Stones |
A
considerable stock of stones are available, some of which
are purchased in rough form and cut to our requirements or
customer’s orders. A certain amount of trading in stones
is carried out with selected customers.

The
Company’s main weight lies on the USA and European Market.

|
The
library of designs varies from way back in 1960’s to
the 1990’s and the Millennium with local and international
designs. The company has access to all current design magazines
and publications to update current trends. The company participates
in many major international fairs.
i.e. Jedifa
– Belgium, Jewellers of America,
Vichenza
– Italy, Veijle Fair Denmark etc.
When visiting these fairs and countries new designs and concepts
are acquired and made use of to create special Jewellery for
the Sri Lankan and Export Market.
